The Second Annual
Sparrow Prizes in Poetry and Prose

 

In early 2010, the LBJ will publish its third issue featuring the winners of the Second Annual Sparrow Prizes in Poetry and
Prose. The journal is now accepting submissions in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The reading period is open until November 15, 2009 (postmark date).

One winner in each category—poetry and prose—will receive $300 and publication in the LBJ’s third issue.

The contest entry fee is $10 per manuscript (twenty pages of double-spaced, single-side prose, or up to five poems), which includes a copy of the issue. Multiple entries are acceptable, and all entries will be considered for publication.

Submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter, including contact information. Please, no identification on the entry itself.

Materials should be sent with an SASE and a check made payable to “Board of Regents,” with the memo, “The LBJ/ Sparrow Prizes,” to:
